Well I DID read all the reviews, and ordered it anyway. It's very pretty, and I do have a very small head, but yes, it IS a close fit. I felt it squashed all my hair down and makes my nose appear to stick out even further! I think it may slacken off a bit in use, as knitwear does.

I was going to return it, but the more I try it on, the more used to it I become.

I'm now thinking that it will be just SPOT ON for wearing under a hood!

Brilliant! It's now a keepie!

Had my eye on this hat for awhile but was a bit concerned about sizing based on previous reviews. However received it yesterday & LOVE it. I think my head is of average size and it fits perfectly. The colouring is lovely and the quality is excellent. Very happy customer.

I bought the hat and wrist warmers for my daughter for her birthday. Like other people, I found the hat was a smaller shape than it looked on the model. My daughter had to give it to her younger daughter(even though she has a small head), but kept the wrist warmers. We did like the quality though.

Looked like a swimming cap on my head. Too small and had to return it.

Far too small and hardly sat on my head hence had to return it. Quality was nice though. Please make in bigger sizes!

Although the quality,softnesss and colours are lovely I was disappointed that it fitted very snugly and did not look as full as in the catalogue (and I have a very small head)Sadly I shall be returnng the item.

Definitely not as big and chunky as I'd hoped but still a nice warm hat.

I am pleased with my beanie. It is so warm and soft. The only slightly negative comment I'd make is that it is not so 'full' as in your picture eg the latter really looks much more substantial than the real article. Or maybe I just got a very large head!

I also bought the dress/jumper with the belt and that is absolutely lovely. I am looking forward to wearing all winter!

Not as roomy as on the picture, nevertherless v. nice.

P.S. I have also bought ladies and men's wooly socks and they are trully GREAT!

The beanie is lovely and soft and the colours are just right. However it is not as full as it looks in the pictures - it sits snug over the head and does not have any slouch in it, which I would have preferred.
