FAMILIES COULD DON COUNTRY CLOTHING AND HEAD OUTDOORS THIS SUMMER
Families may like to put on their country clothing and explore the great outdoors during the summer holidays.
Heading for a walk in the country or enjoying a day at the beach are both cost-effective ways to spend the break, explains Darren Cook, spokesperson for Moneyfacts.co.uk.
He advises parents on the best ways to entertain children while they are off school and says this time of year can be costly.
"Summer school holidays, after Christmas, must be the most expensive time of the year for families," he suggests.
Instead of visiting premium attractions that are often pricey, parents could wrap up in wool knitwear and outdoor clothing and go for a country walk with their kids.
Mr Cook reveals these outdoor activities should mean families get good value for money and do not spend the whole holiday worrying about finances.
According to a survey from Elizabeth Finn Care, almost two-thirds of parents with school-aged sons and daughters think they will be in debt by the end of the summer holidays.
