MENS KNITWEAR BUYERS MAY CONSIDER ETHICAL IMPACT
Those purchasing a mens jumper might like to look at where the item has originated from and find out more about its production.
According to Vanessa Brain, business development manager for the Fairtrade Foundation, there has been a growth in Fairtrade cotton in the past five years.
This could mean buyers of other garments have a greater interest in the ethical side of fashion.
Speaking at Pure London, said to be the UK's leading trade fashion event, Ms Brain explained Fairtrade cotton guarantees buyers that the materials included in their clothing is sourced in a "fair and ethical way".
Eco-friendly company Celtic Sheepskin has similar aims, choosing organic or natural fibres for its products, the majority of which are made in Great Britain.
Buyers looking for a mens jumper, for example, may find this is an important consideration when making their purchase.
Ms Brain states there is a growing market for Fairtrade clothing and added: "We are really encouraged to see that people are staying true to their ethical values."
