'MORE PEOPLE THAN EVER' SHOPPING FOR ETHICAL CLOTHING
A number of people are now taking advantage of the fact they can pick up ethical clothing at an affordable price.
In a piece for the Houston Chronicle this week, it is explained that interest in items made in an organic or fair-trade manner has been growing for a number of years and this does not have to be expensive.
The publication looked at one small business operator who offers her wares at the US-based Discovery Green farmers market, who explained she has seen the sector change.
"I'm seeing customers that I've never seen before," she added. "People are primed and ready to learn about organic textiles and find out what it means for them - I remind them it's an investment."
The article went on to say that in the past some have viewed fair-trade clothing with some level of cynicism, thinking it to be "drab" or expensive - but this was noted as not the case.
A recent IMRG Capgemini survey revealed the internet was also growing in popularity as a place to shop for such items.
