SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS TO BE DISCUSSED AT MANAGING INNOVATION IN TEXTILES
Sustainable materials are set to be one of the key topics at a textile industry conference in Manchester this month.
The Managing Innovation in Textiles event will take place at the city's Textile Institute on June 10th and 11th and will see talks from experts at the University of Bolton, Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the University of Duisburg in Germany.
Various new technological innovations into the production of men's knitwear material could be demonstrated, including electronically active yarns, antistatic repellent textiles and possum fibre.
Dr Amine Hadj Taieb, Dr Slah Msahli and Professor Faouzi Sakli, all from the Textile Research Unit of ISET Ksar Hellal in Tunisia, will also be talking about the role of ecological design approaches in the industry.
Registrations are now open for the Textile Institute's Centenary Conference on November 3rd and 4th, which will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the organisation's founding.
