"VERY GOOD" FABRICS AROUND FOR ETHICAL CLOTHING
With many people now looking to boost their eco-credentials, one writer has looked at the popularity of ethical clothing.
This week SEE Magazine's Marliss Weber spoke to a number of experts who favour recycled materials and sustainable practices when looking at new and fashionable items.
One such duo was Nancy Kerr and Rachel McQueen, human ecology professors at the University of Alberta, who told the writer that there are some very interesting green fabrics available.
"Recycled cotton is very good," Ms Kerr was cited as saying. "It makes sense to me to use this scrap cotton rather than filling a landfill with it."
Designers who are also fans of ethical clothing and materials that are sourced with sustainability in mind include Stella McCartney.
The expert and daughter of former Beatle Paul recently told the Guardian she believed the fashion industry should step up and use more of these products in its catwalk lines.
