YARN INDUSTRY CELEBRATED AT ROYAL WELSH SHOW
The Royal Welsh Show - which promotes the country's agriculture and yarn industry - got underway this week.
And the first round of the Golden Shears World Blade Shearing contest will begin today (July 20th).
Wool knitwear buyers may be interested in the competition, which highlights the work that goes into obtaining the sustainable material.
The British Wool Marketing Board (BWMB) is sponsoring the event and will be displaying its work throughout the Royal Welsh Show, which runs until July 22nd.
Chairman Frank Langrish explained many of the Golden Shears competitors have undertaken BWMB training at some point.
"Our shearing training courses are there for wool producers and provide valuable support to the sheep farmer wanting to learn or advance skills used every shearing season," he added.
The Campaign for Wool - which was launched by the Prince of Wales - will also be supported and promoted by the BWMB at this week's event.
