FASHION PARADE HIGHLIGHTS MENS KNITWEAR INDUSTRY
Mens knitwear may have been the focus of designers who showcased their fashion creations at an event in Hamilton, Australia.
The best young talent in the region "took the humble ball of wool and turned it into award-winning fashion", according to The Standard.
And the Sheepvention fashion parade saw an audience of more than 500 people attend to view the creations.
"We thought they were all good, all exciting and all really well finished," convenor Sophie Claffey said of the designs.
The fashion students competed in the Australasian Young Designer Wool Awards, with a 19-year-old entrant from Melbourne winning the main accolade.
Ms Claffey said the winner - Melanie Steiszkal - created an interesting outfit with "many uses of wool throughout".
The award was introduced by Sheepvention in 2001 and organisers explain it aims to encourage designers and artists to use wool for their creations, while allowing them to showcase their work.
