KNITWEAR SEEN ON MODELS AT PARIS FASHION WEEK
Knitwear looks set to be a big trend next winter, after a fashion writer spotted it on models at Paris Fashion Week.
"Ripped up knitwear" featured heavily in Japanese designer Miharayasuhiro's collections, according to Isaac Hindin Miller writing for the New Zealand Herald.
On day one of the fashion week, many themes were "at odds with each other", the writer explaned.
Knitwear was placed alongside old denim, threadbare jackets and flannel checks.
Wool was seen on suit-clad models, who the writer guessed were aiming to resemble politicians or lawyers.
The designer had laid out wooden chairs in a zig-zag pattern that forced the models to take a "sharply contorted" path down the catwalk as violins played in the background.
It follows collections at Milan Fashion Week, which hinted that sheepskin would be a key trend of autumn and winter 2010-11.
The Times' fashion writer also noted that elaborate knitwear was seen on models for designers such as Pringle in Milan.
