MENS JUMPERS MAY PROVE HANDY FOR RYDER CUP ATTENDEES
Keeping warm in a mens jumper could be a wise move by those watching and competing in the Ryder Cup.
The golf tournament got underway today (October 1st), but has already been suspended due to heavy rain.
Organisers say this is the first time this has happened since the event was held in 1997 at Valderrama.
While waiting for play to begin again, many males may be wrapping up in their mens jumpers in order to ward off the cold climes.
The Met Office warns heavy rain and blustery winds will spread to all areas of the UK today, so it may well be some time before competitors take to the course.
John Paramor, chief referee of The European Tour, says: "We leave a lot up to the players themselves. They were continuing but it got to such a stage where even with all the resources we have here it was just too much."
He says the storm system is strong, although the contest could restart this afternoon.
