MEN'S KNITWEAR COULD BE AN ETHICAL PURCHASE
People looking for men's knitwear which is ethically sourced need to have hard facts to ensure they are buying the right products.
That is according to Will Hodson, from the Ethical Consumer Magazine, who suggested people cannot always trust labels and adverts for clothes which claim the product is environmentally and socially friendly.
"It's tempting to believe the latest glossy advert and think you're buying green, but you're probably not. We need hard figures from companies, comparable with those of their rivals. And they need to come through an intermediary," he explained.
Mr Hodson added consumers can manifest their political views when buying items such as men's jumpers because public awareness of issues can be demonstrated through consumer action.
A recent report by Kelkoo predicted global sales of environmentally-friendly products would double from £8.04 billion to £17.1 billion by 2015, while households currently spend an average of £305 per year on ethical items.
