Men who like to wear items of knitwear may be interested in a new trend of the knitted tie.
According to City A.M, the trend in men's knitwear has been given "retro credibility" by the crew of Mad Men.
"The real beauty of the knitted tie, however, is its texture," the writer explains.
Wool or cashmere is often used and tightly knitted so that this variation has more depth than traditional styles.
And the ties can be worn in a number of colours, which may be particularly suitable in spring and summer.
Linen suits should be the basis of an outfit and are perfectly accessorised with the knitted item.
The publication also explains that the ties may be worn for a casual or formal look, but should always be donned with a plain shirt because patterns can "over-complicate" the ensemble.
Set in the 1950s, Mad Men has inspired retro fashions, with cast members of the drama donning outfits typical of the time.
