POLO NECKS A "MARVELLOUSLY FUNCTIONAL" MEN'S KNITWEAR TREND
Polo neck jumpers are a key trend in men's knitwear this autumn, the Financial Times has reported.
The newspaper's Eric Musgrave called the style "marvellously functional", adding that the "scarf and sweater in one" features in many menswear collections this season, including designer Tom Ford, Scottish knitwear firm Ballantyne and Italian fashion house Brioni, which has included the polo neck knit in its evening wear collection.
Juls Dawson of Gio-Goi declared that polo jumpers are "100 per cent cool", but noted that the most stylish are fine gauge, rather than ribbed or chunky knits.
Another knitwear trend making waves this winter is the cardigan, which has seen a resurgence in popularity thanks to films such as 500 Days of Summer, according to the Guardian.
Pairing a buttoned knitted jumper with a shirt and skinny tie is a fashionable way to copy actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt's casual cool look from the indie movie.
