ARE LADIES CARDIGANS UNDERRATED?
Ladies cardigans may be essential items for all women to have in their wardrobe, according to a fashion student.
Emma Gleason from the Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand spoke to the New Zealand Herald about her passion for all things woollen.
When asked what the most underrated item in fashion is, Ms Gleason replied "knitwear".
"I'm talking real, proper, warm knitwear in a classic colour like navy or camel. It's a brilliant foil to everything from eccentric prints to floaty, feminine pieces and short hemlines," the student stated.
Ladies cardigans may be an ideal example of this, as they work well when worn with a girly summer dress for occasions such as weddings.
However, the knitwear is also ideal for casual use and can be worn with jeans and layers for a more practical look.
Ms Gleason revealed she likes to combine knitwear with relatively masculine elements such as shirts and flat shoes.
She then teams these with bags and feminine items to create her unique style, the publication noted.
