CLOTHING MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN 'A GROWING TREND'
Clothing made in Great Britain has become increasingly fashionable among the old and young.
This is the claim of Karen Dacre, writing for the London Evening Standard, who explains this shift has taken place over the past ten years.
She states: "This rekindled love for traditional English labels is a by-product of the city's evolving street style."
People are looking to items that are quintessentially British, with the "cool set" becoming avid followers of this trend.
Ms Dacre continues to explain country clothing is now commonly seen in areas such as Brick Lane in London.
"Key to this trend is an appreciation for traditional and hand-made fabrics," she says.
Ladies sweaters teamed with waxed jackets and pretty dresses are all key parts of this look.
And this trend, unlike some others, has prospered during the recession, adds Ms Dacre.
It could be part of a 'make-do-and-mend' attitude that often occurs during economic downturns, where many people look to invest in quality items, rather than disposable fashion.
