CLOTHING MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN COULD HELP "BUILD A PROPER WARDROBE FROM SCRATCH"
Men and women could use clothing made in Great Britain to start a collection of quality outfits.
According to Jo Poole from the Dress Doctor, buyers are now looking for items that last, rather than disposable fashion.
"People are better off having good pieces made well with good cloth
and to build a proper wardrobe from scratch that is fit for their career and their life," she advised.
These garments could reflect well on the place in which they were made and the textiles used, Ms Poole continued.
She urged shoppers to think about their personal tastes and lifestyle, rather than constantly trying to keep up with the latest trends.
Ms Poole said it is a good idea to put ensembles together that will last - including hints at key fashions if desired.
In a recent survey by Mintel, 28 per cent of consumers stated they invest in "timeless" styles, rather than current looks that may not last.
Men's and women's knitwear could be one way to do this, as it is suitable to be worn throughout the year and can be adapted for many occasions.
