KNITTED SCARVES ARE A 'MUST-HAVE'
Knitwear has been cited by one publication as a necessity this winter.
Scarves in particular are a must-have at the moment, according to nwsource.com.

Various fashion trends affect how the accessory is worn and a particular style of the moment is the 'snood'. The term refers to a long scarf which is knitted together so it may be worn around the head and double-up as a hat, the website stated.
For those who like to wear knitwear in a more casual way, the snood can be left long. Or, on the days when it is colder than usual, the knitted items may be wrapped around many times to add extra warmth.
Normal scarves can be used in a similar way and are versatile items. Chunky knitwear in particular is "perfect for warding off winter's chill", the writer noted.
