KNITWEAR 'SHOWS HOW GARMENTS ARE MADE'
Knitwear may be treasured more than disposable fashion that involves little effort.
This is according to a writer for the Statesman Journal, who said it can be easy to overlook the time and effort involved in making clothing.
And if people realised the various stages that go into creating knitwear, they may treasure the items more.
This would be the case "if every time we wanted a sweater we had to shear a sheep, clean the wool, card the wool, spin the wool and weave the wool," the writer claimed.
While these types of garments do often require a little more patience, the pleasure gained as a result of this can be very rewarding, it was noted.
Families with children who would like to see more of what the process involves could attend a sheep shearing event in their area.
Many local country fairs hold stalls where farmers can demonstrate the skill or offer explanations on how this is done.
