LADIES' CARDIGANS HAVE "COME A LONG WAY"
Ladies' cardigans are now so versatile they can be worn for almost any occasion, a fashion writer claims.
Writing for the Sydney Morning Herald, Dijanna Mulhearn explains this item of clothing has "come a long way" since it was first introduced in the 19th century.
Long cardigans are particularly stylish options at the moment, as they can be dressed up or worn casually to suit most occasions.
While they come in all sorts of colours, the knitwear is currently being sported in minimalist shades such as camel, soft grey and pale pinks, Ms Mulhearn notes.
Those wanting a more luxurious feel could opt for merino wool, while chunkier styles are best worn shorter.
For weekend looks, team a long cardigan with a shirt dress and opaque tights, while the same item may be worn to work over a gathered skirt and collared shirt, the writer advises.
Another option to keep up with a bohemian trend expected in the UK this summer could be to team ladies' knitwear with chunky jewellery and boho prints.
