LADIES JUMPERS 'ARE THE NEW JACKETS'
Ladies cashmere jumpers and sweaters are a top fashion trend for the autumn/winter 2010 season, according to one industry commentator.
Andre Leon Talley, Vogue contributing editor, has said he loved a feature about knitwear that appeared in the publication.
He told New York Fashion wool knitwear is no longer confined to twin sets and garments can be worn in a variety of ways.
A sweater can be styled in a sexy "pin-up girl" way or women could choose a cosy grandfather cardigan, Talley pointed out.
"The sweater is the new jacket - there are so many ways to wear it, whether belted or with a ball gown," he told the news provider.
Ladies knitwear has also been recommended by the Daily Telegraph as a great way to keep up with the trends this season.
It said there is a return to minimalism and simplicity, with a 1950s style creeping in.
