MEN'S JUMPERS COULD PROVE IDEAL FOR PEAK DISTRICT HOLIDAY
Despite the recent sunny weather, men's jumpers could be packed on a holiday to the Peak District to keep tourists prepared if the wind picks up.
Visit Peak District and Derbyshire recently told those thinking of taking their vacation in the UK this year that the region offers an escape from city life along with "jawdropping" and "inspirational" scenery.
David Thornton, deputy chief executive and head of marketing at the tourist board, suggested people could don their knitwear made in Great Britain and head to the many cottages, farms and farmers' markets across the district.
As for staying overnight, Mr Thornton said: "We actually welcome over 36 million visitors a year into the Peak District and Derbyshire, so with that you have to have an accommodation type for everybody."
Visit England recently released figures that showed 18 per cent more people took trips within Great Britain in 2009, compared to 2008 statistics.
