MERINO WOOL TO BE USED FOR MARTIAL ARTS CLOTHING
Merino wool has a number of properties that make it ideal to be used for performance wear, as well as everyday clothing.
Entrepreneurs Lavinia Calvert and Grant Scott from New Zealand have recognised the qualities of the sustainable material and are planning to use it in "performance fightwear", Voxy News Engine reports.
Merino wool is combined with other textiles to create the patent-pending material, the website notes.
"The moisture management, heat regulation and quick drying qualities of wool [are] on the inside next to the skin," it adds.
Britons could find Merino wool clothing meets a range of needs, as these insulating qualities make it suitable for more active pursuits.
Wool knitwear made from the sustainable material is also known to be comfortable and cosy, giving items a luxurious feel.
It proves ideal for accessories, such as Celtic Sheepskin's Merino beanie hat, which could be worn with the lambswool scarf.
