MICHAEL PHELPS SPORTS KNITWEAR
Swimmer Michael Phelps wore a woollen hat to speak to reporters during snow showers last Thursday (December 17th).
Reuters news agency reported that the swimmer wore the knitwear as he was interviewed inside the Manchester Aquatics Centre while snow flurries could be seen through the windows.
His woollen hat kept Phelps warm and cosy as reporters questioned him on his first competition in a British pool.
The Olympic champion usually sports less comfortable headwear such as his famous latex swimming caps.
But last week the woollen hat was "pulled firmly down across his ears in a concession to the cold", Reuters claimed.
Many Britons are likely to be pulling their knitwear even closer together during the current cold temperatures.
Severe weather warnings have been issued by the Met Office this week.
Heavy snow is expected across much of the UK, with widespread icy roads covering the parts of the country which escape the snow.
