SEASONAL TRENDS: "LONG AND LEAN" KNITWEAR SHAPES
Knitwear is fashionable no matter what time of year - but this season "long and lean" silhouettes are where it's at, says Vogue.
Calling these types of garments "flexible friends", the magazine suggests wearing geometrically-cut, straight-edge cardigans and jumpers with crisp and clean lines.
But that is not to say you cannot have fun with these styles. Layering - always a winner if you need to keep warm - can be done to striking effect with v-necks, camisoles, scarves and low-button cardigans.
In fact, using these ideas in both the home and the office can be classic, Vogue states, describing knitwear as "comfortable and unrestricting … more adaptable to work and leisure than more formal cloth tailoring".
Colour-wise, this season looks to unusual shades as a way to brighten up the dull weather.
Why not team a long cardigan with a cord skirt and flat calf-length boots for a smart-casual look, or a sleeveless cowl-neck with leggings and Ugg style boots for a comfortable and chic ensemble?
