WOOL KNITWEAR EXPERT TO SPEAK AT MANCHESTER CONFERENCE
An expert in wool knitwear and the head of Brandix Lanka will deliver the keynote speech at the Textile Institute Centenary Conference in November, it has been confirmed.
Ashroff Omar is described by the Knitting Trade Journal as "a prominent figure in the knitwear industry" and will speak about the challenges currently faced by the industry.
He will refer to globalisation and the drive for cheaper products, the publication added.
In its 100th year, the Textile Institute aims to host a conference that will allow for networking and discussion about topics affecting the market.
Sustainable materials may also be examined, as the event looks at subjects including "wearable technology" and innovative textiles.
Organisers state the premise for the conference as a whole is "creating a global vision for textiles, clothing and footwear", with future trends and product design among the themes.
Attendees of the talks, held on November 3rd and 4th, can expect to hear presentations from a range of experts in the industry.
