WOOL KNITWEAR INDUSTRY GATHERS FOR FASHION SHOW
Representatives from the knitwear sector met at an awards ceremony to celebrate the industry.
Wool knitwear was showcased at an event allowing budding designers the chance to meet with industry experts.
The Knitwear Fashion Show was held yesterday (May 25th) at the Mira Hong Kong, where graduates from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University's Institute of Textiles and Clothing attended.
Yarn suppliers and wool knitwear producers were just some of the attendees at the show, who gathered to view the students' work.
Addressing the show, Professor Timothy Tong from the university - which was founded in 1937 - said the event allows those working in the industry and the university to "jointly nurture designers of tomorrow".
Wong Ting Chung, chairman and chief executive officer of Nameson Group - a sponsor of the show - agreed the event helps to highlight the knitwear sector.
It was created as a "means of providing students with the opportunity to experience the processes of designing, manufacturing and displaying clothing first-hand," he added.
