WOOL KNITWEAR LLAMAS AT WEEKEND EVENT
Llama wool knitwear is just one way the material from the furry creatures can be transformed.
This was the message at an event held over the weekend, which invited children and adults to meet some of the animals.
A recent novel published by author Anna Dewdney may have made the creatures more popular among youngsters, many of whom arrived at their local library on May 16th, the Lansing State Journal reported.
They were invited to the Capital Area District Library to meet real llamas and one of the characters from children's book Llama Llama Red Pajama, which is out now.
And Jerry Miller, who owns 18 of the animals, explained how their wool can be transformed into ladies and men's knitwear, as well as many other products.
"Llamas by nature are very easy to get along with," he told the publication.
As well as their uses for clothing, llamas are also handy for guarding herds of sheep, Mr Miller added.
