British-made wool products are being celebrated at the Woolfest 2010 event, held today (June 25th) and tomorrow at Mitchell's Lakeland Livestock Centre near Cockermouth, Cumbria.

Visitors can enjoy demonstrations of the efforts that go into creating items of wool knitwear.

Spinners, dyers and sheep farmers will all be on hand to give an explanation of their work and show their skills in action.

One of the event's exhibitions will be held by members of The Wool Clip - a Cumbrian body consisting of 16 members who meet to create knitwear and practise various wool techniques.

Founder member Pam Hall told the News and Star: "Woolfest is a key date in the calendar for lots of wool enthusiasts across the UK and abroad."

She said this year's celebration may well be "one of the biggest and best Woolfests ever".

Visitors can expect to see a range of items on offer, many of which have been created using traditional skills to reflect the region's heritage, the publication notes.
