YORKSHIRE ARTIST TO USE WOOL KNITWEAR IN WORK
Wool knitwear will be used to transform a work of art from David Hockney, it has been reported.
His piece, entitled Going Up Garrowby Hill, will be adapted and turned into a wall hanging containing the sustainable material.
It is then due to be placed in the Regional Agricultural Centre at the Yorkshire Agricultural Society's (YAS) headquarters.
The body is known for its support of the wool industry and other rural matters and organises events such as the Great Yorkshire Show.
Hockney's wall hanging will contain a number of felt panels, which consist of coloured wool to recreate his famous piece of art.
Susan Hibbert, human resources manager for YAS, came up with the idea for the artwork after she learnt how to create felt from wool at a class.
Other members of the class will join Ms Hibbert in producing the panels from the sustainable material to contribute towards the final piece.
