MENS AND LADIES SLIPPERS 'PROVIDED FOR VISITORS TO MODERNIST HOUSE'
Mens and ladies slippers are offered to anyone who visits a striking property in Cornwall.
John and Esme Bonnington own the 1930s home that was designed and built by architect John Campbell, the Daily Telegraph reports.
Mr Bonnington is described as an "ardent modernist" with a minimalist approach to interior design.
"Visitors today have to leave their shoes - and the accompanying Cornish mud - at the door and exchange them for white slippers," the news source notes.
The property has been completely refurbished by its present owners, who have installed Danish furniture and Athenian marble floors.
While much of the decor is contemporary, the couple have opted for some features to add colour and interest, the publication adds.
Scripps Howard News Service recently suggested that offering a pair of mens or ladies slippers to guests when they arrive at a house is a good way to make them feel welcome.
