UGG STYLE BOOTS 'INSPIRED BY CELEBRITIES'
Ordinary people were inspired to wear Ugg style boots after certain celebrities adopted the trend a number of years ago.
This is according to blackbookmag.com, which explains that the sheepskin footwear became an almost instant hit.
Sarah Jessica Parker, Sienna Miller and Pamela Anderson are all credited by the website for sparking the trend.
"Women going crazy for a pair of shoes that are actually comfortable and warm is fairly understandable," the writer explains.
In 2003 Ugg style boots seemed to "take off" and were donned by women around the world.
Originally worn by surfers in Australia and New Zealand in the 1960s and 1970s, it was not always the case that everyday men and women could pick up a pair of the fleecy boots.
But the website explains that now many women have Ugg style boots on hand for a rainy day.
Sarah Jessica Parker was recently seen wearing Ugg style boots as she headed out in the rain in New York carrying her daughter Loretta.
