CHUNKY CARDIGANS 'ARE WORK-FRIENDLY'
Chunky-knit cardigans are among the "statement" ladies' knitwear trends to wear to work as the temperature drops, according to a fashion writer.
The Independent's Susannah Frankel noted that the work-friendly alternative to a tailored coat "looks particularly fine" with skinny trousers.
Furthermore, ladies' knitwear pieces are a "relaxed and less dressed up" form of outerwear that can easily make the transition from outdoors to indoors.
Supermodel Claudia Schiffer has previously been spotted wearing a belted yellow cardigan, while Gossip Girl guest star Hilary Duff has been snapped out and about in a black 'coatigan' - a coat and cardigan hybrid.
Other celebrity fans of ladies' knitwear include Chuck and The OC star Rachel Bilson and actress Katie Holmes - who have been seen bundling up in warm scarves - as well as Factory Girl actress Sienna Miller and singer Lily Allen, who both are keeping cosy in knit beanie hats as the weather gets chilly.
