COUNTRY CLOTHING: CLOGS ARE NOW CHIC
Clogs and country clothing have returned to catwalks this month, reinforcing the notion that style and comfort can go hand in hand.
Karl Lagerfeld's spring 2010 collection for Chanel featured the footwear in various colours with what the New York Times called "beautiful" garments in earthy hues.
However, some might find his version of the traditional shoe a bit difficult to walk in, as they were given chunky heels.
Yet, soft sheepskin clogs can be ideal as a choice of footwear all season - whether strolling down the catwalk or not.
The Los Angeles Times described Lagerfeld's show as "rustic", using shades such as oatmeal, black, white and cream to set off knitwear pieces based on classic items, such as the boucle jacket.
Tweed, crotchet and busy prints using stripes and flowers were also incorporated into the collection for a homely and down-to-earth feel.
Budding fashionistas who want to have a go at this look could pair a flowing skirt with a soft white fine-knit v-neck and some Ugg style boots or clogs.
