ETHICAL CLOTHING 'BOOSTS MCCARTNEY'S SUCCESS'
A reputation for incorporating ethical clothing into her line of catwalk creations may be part of the reason behind one famous designer's success, it has been suggested.
Rosamund Urwin said in a piece for the London Evening Standard that while a number of retailers are still riding out the effects of the recession, one has continued to see profits soar.
She explained Stella McCartney has witnessed her recent line of products draw in around £1.8 million in the last year - and much of this can be attributed to her association with ethical clothing.
"Fashion insiders say former Beatle Paul McCartney's daughter
is benefiting from a rise in demand," Ms Urwin added.
It went on to note this attention to more sustainable products could be seen at last month's London Fashion Week where her range included items made with organic cotton and recycled polyester.
Harry Potter star Emma Watson recently revealed plans to move into the field of design with a focus on ethical clothing.
