KNITWEAR SEEN AT NEW YORK FASHION WEEK
Knitwear appears to have sparked discussion at New York Fashion Week.
During the VPL by Victoria Bartlett show, a model was pictured wearing a knitted swimming costume-style outfit.
According to writers at the Daily News, the outfit was a hybrid of a "sweater-kini and the sweater onesie".
The knitwear was in shades of dark grey and featured intricately crafted sections of ruffles and cut-outs.
With a section taken from the midriff and an asymmetrical one-shouldered neckline, the piece did indeed resemble a bathing suit.
Speaking yesterday (February 14th) to NBC New York, designer Victoria Bartlett explained that her range was "all about the anatomy".
"It spawns from the geography of the body", she claimed and added that her theme was taking things apart and putting them together again.
Last month a similar trend was noted at Milan Fashion Week, which saw elaborate knitwear worn by many models on the catwalk, according to the Times.
