KNITWEAR WILL BE "IRRESISTIBLE" IN AUTUMN 2010
Knitwear is going to be key for autumn 2010, according to fashion writers at Reuters.
The news agency explained that the designs seen at New York Fashion Week point to a trend of wrapping up warm in cosy outdoor clothing.
Spokesman for Prime Outlets James Aguilar said: "The woolly scarf could well be the one item consumers will find irresistible."
Woollen jumpers and interesting knitwear of various textures and proportions will be seen throughout the fashion world in autumn, he continued.
Fashion writer at the Huffington Post Judy Licht told Reuters "we're cocooning" and people will wrap up so they feel warm and safe.
This is partly due to the economic times and the fact that many people remain "frightened" about the situation, so like to feel looked-after at home.
Yesterday (February 18th) this view was supported after designer Michael Kors exhibited his collection at the Fashion Week.
Cashmere, wool and knitwear were all said to feature heavily in the outfits he put together for the show.
