Residents of London have been offered a lesson in creating their own ladies' knitwear at a fashion event in Regent's Park.

The Camden Green Fair saw the creators of clothing made in Great Britain - students from the London College of Fashion - teach people how to knit, crotchet and quilt various fabrics.

According to the Hampstead and Highgate Express, the workshop focused on ethical clothing and was just part of a series of activities promoting green DIY ideas, from willow weaving and sculpture gardening to cycling and homeopathy.

Charlie Willsmore, trustee of the fair, told the newspaper before the event took place this weekend: "There is a serious message behind everything we do at the Green Fair and people will learn about ways to have a more positive environmental impact while having a fantastic free day out."

The London College of Fashion currently boasts the Centre of Sustainable Fashion, which promotes the research, teaching and business practices of green clothing manufacture and supports ethical ventures.
