Cosy cable-knit sweaters are "what winter is all about" when it comes to ladies' knitwear styles, according to The Frisky.
Writing for the style blog, Annika Harris commented that cable-knit tops are great for all kinds of looks, as sweaters can be paired with a mini skirt, layered under a quilted vest or dressed up with fitted jeans and tall boots in the evening.
She recommended opting for a jumper that "pulls double duty" and can easily make the transition from day to night.
Cashmere is a ladies' knitwear item that has managed to keep its "luxury status" in spite of its current affordability, the Daily Mail reported this week (December 30th).
It noted that a black cashmere sweater is an "essential" part of any woman's wardrobe, but the soft knit can also be incorporated elsewhere - including socks, gloves, scarves and hats.
Madonna is thought to be a cashmere fan and Cameron Diaz paired her cosy sweater with a knit hat, scarf and gloves in last year's film The Holiday.
