LEADERS' WIVES TURN TO KNITWEAR
Knitwear seems to be the weapon of choice for the wives of David Cameron and Gordon Brown.
Sarah Brown was yesterday (April 7th) seen sporting a lime yellow cardigan as the campaign for the general election got underway this week.
According to the Guardian "a 'normal' cardigan is totally on message" for the wives of the Conservative and Labour Party leaders.
But Brown's knitwear may have also been inspired by Michelle Obama's style, as it is in a similar shade to the cardigan worn by America's first lady during the inauguration.
"The cardigan already has its own political champion in the shape of Michelle Obama, although she usually prefers her cardis on the fancier side," the publication claims.
And Samantha Cameron was seen wearing a brown knitted cardigan at the end of last month, the Daily Mail reported.
The wife of Conservative leader David Cameron was spotted leaving the couple's London home as she headed out to work.
She teamed the long brown cardigan with a satin dress of the same colour and looked chic as she showed off her baby bump.
