Sheepskin coats may be classic items of outdoor wear, but they are set to hit the high street with force.
This is according to fashion writers at student-direct.co.uk, who note that the trend will take off this year.
Writing about the key looks of London Fashion Week, the journalist explained that sheepskin was seen across the board.
Autumn and winter 2010-11 will be the time when the jackets will be seen in most shops, but there are some guidelines to follow when sporting sheepskin.
Colour-wise, neutrals such as brown, khakis, black and tan look good for the outside of the coats.
Regarding the lining, it should be cream or black to carry off the look in the best way.
People may also consider purchasing a larger than normal size, as layers under the sheepskin can sometimes feel bulky if the jacket is close-fitting.
Last month it was reported that Burberry shows during Fashion Week featured sheepskin collections and models walked the runway in boots, coats and jackets made from the cosy material.
