Teaming knitwear with ostensibly mismatched fabrics can create the "cutting edge" look that is bang on trend this season.
Writing for the Telegraph, Harriet Quick said recent fashion shows in Paris included various knits in steel and cloud-white hues that were worn with completely different textures for a modern look.

Julien Macdonald was also quoted by the newspaper as saying that knitwear is going through a period of growth.
"Processes have changed due to the development of yarns and machinery, which means that more technical knitwear is possible," he remarked.
