UGG STYLE BOOTS ARE A 'KEY TREND OF NOUGHTIES'
A fashion expert has claimed that Ugg style boots are one of the main trends of the noughties.
Fashion director at handbag.com Belinda White said Ugg style boots "started life as a fashionable antidote to the ubiquitous trainer".
The trend caught on after icon Sienna Miller became a fan of the boho style, Ms White explained.
Miller was seen wearing gypsy skirts, cowboy hats and coin belts accessorised by Ugg style boots.
Skinny jeans are also a defining item of the past decade, Ms White noted.
Many celebrities have been seen tucking in a pair of skinny jeans to their versatile Ugg style boots - just yesterday (December 22nd) Katie Price was reported combining the two key items.
Camilla Long also stated in the Sunday Times that Ugg style boots have been a key trend of the past ten years thanks to shoppers being "fuelled by endless credit".
In September, Mintel published results of a survey which said the fashion industry had been highly resilient during the credit crunch.
Brits spent an average of £656 each during the depths of the recession in 2008 - more than double the amount spent by the French population, it found.
