Footwear Size and fitting instructions:

When trying on your footwear for the first time, it may feel very tight across your toes and instep. This is nothing to worry about, as within an hour or so of wearing, the boots or slippers will loosen off as the 3/4 inch long wool starts to bed down and mould to your feet. So do not order a size bigger than you usually wear, otherwise they will end up too big for you. If you know you are a half size – then we recommend buying the next size up.

Our sheepskin insole will mould to the natural contours of your foot, creating a personalised arch support. We sell replacement sheepskin insoles, which can also be trimmed & used in your other footwear.

The natural properties of sheepskin will wick moisture away to ensure dry and cosy feet, so they can be worn barefoot. Sheepskin fleece helps maintain body temperature, making Celt footwear appropriate for all climates. In fact, the wool can keep your feet warm down to -30°F and cool up to 80°F.

Footwear Size and fitting instructions:

Our children’s footwear comes in dual sizes (5-6, 7-8, 9-10 etc.) to make them last longer. The thick wool inside the boot will comfortably grip the smaller foot size, however, for larger sizes and when trying on the boot for the first time, it may feel very tight across the toes and instep. This is nothing to worry about, as within an hour or so of wearing, the boots or slippers will loosen off as the 3/4 inch long wool starts to bed down and mould to your child’s feet.

Care & Cleaning Advice

Specific care and cleaning product recommendations are given on each product page once an item/size has been placed in the shopping basket.

To view our full range of care & cleaning products click here.

Footwear Washing Instructions

Many of our footwear designs can be machine washed. However, some can not so please check on the product page or the tag attached to the product for particular cleaning instructions.

There will be some colour fading after washing, particularly with darker colours.

Wash the boots on a 30 degree Wool Cycle using ONLY our Celt Wool Wash. It is the only washing liquid we test on our sheepskins.

You may want to put the footwear in a pillow case to avoid drum marks on the suede.

Allow to dry naturally (this may take a couple of days). Keep away from any sources of heat; radiators, sunlight, airing cupboards etc.

Once dry you will need to give the suede a brush to bring up the nap. This can be done using a stiff bristled brush. If using a suede brush please be gentle.

We strongly recommend with contrasting colours on the same pair, that you hand wash in cool water using Celtic Wool Wash.

DO NOT SOAK
DO NOT USE FABRIC CONDITIONER
DO NOT USE ARTIFICIAL HEAT TO DRY
DO NOT DRY IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT
